NOTE: In order to be licensed and hired to work as a security guard in the state of Washington, you must be at least 18 years old, a US Citizen or Legal Resident, and be able to pass a criminal background check and random drug screenings. You must be physically and mentally capable of performing the duties of a security guard and employed by a state licensed security guard company.

Security officers provide a deterrent presence, monitor/patrol sites to increase safety and security, respond to incidents, and complete regular reports.
II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- A security officer will be on-time, in the correct uniform, and perform their duties thoroughly, each and every shift.
- Officers use smartphones, tablets/laptops, radios, MS Teams, Outlook, mobile apps and similar tools to report their activities and incidents that occur on sites.
- Officers will check in regularly as instructed, conduct patrols and site checks, and follow post orders and supervisor instructions at all times.
- Officers must be experienced and comfortable dealing with a variety of situations, dealing with transients and other potentially dangerous people, de-escalation, and if no other options are possible, authorized use of force.
III. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MUST be 18 years or older to obtain a security guard license.
- Previous experience as an armed or unarmed security officer, law enforcement officer, and/or military service is preferred.
IV. PAY RATE & BENEFITS
- Unarmed officers make a base rate of $20 or more per hour
- Bonuses are paid based on site assignments, location and service categories and qualifications
- Average pay for unarmed sites is around $25/hr including bonuses
- Supplemental medical, paid time off and 401k benefits after 90 days
